With more than 30 years of clinical experience in the Madison area, Julie has built her practice around a hands-on, patient-centered approach to physical therapy. She has a particular interest in treating myofascial pain, working with athletes experiencing spinal conditions, managing adolescent scoliosis and spondylolysis and applying electrical stimulation for pain control and neuromuscular re-education.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and a Master of Science in Kinesiology (Exercise Physiology emphasis) from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, as well as a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Julie served as a Faculty Associate in the University of Wisconsin–Madison Physical Therapy Program for nine years. Her earlier research focused on the physiological effects of TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation).
She is Level 1 & 2 certified in trigger point dry needling and is recognized as one of the most experienced providers in the state. Julie is an active member of both the Wisconsin Physical Therapy Association and the American Physical Therapy Association.
Julie lives in McFarland with her husband and Frenchies. Outside the clinic, she enjoys Nordic skiing ( Birkie 2015), paddleboarding, yoga, and competing in triathlons (Ironman Florida in 2022).
